What have I been up to?

I Was Thinking About the Power of Romance Book Covers

I remember being a teenager and visiting thrift stores and bookstores looking for romance novels to buy. One of the first things that caught my eye when browsing for books is the cover. The power of a good romance cover is worth its weight in gold. I remember one where the heroine’s hair was flowing down her back, she had a red dress on, and the hero looking masculine and hot was holding the heroine. It was one for the record books. Besides that book, I am trying to think of romance covers that really made me feel I had to buy this book or romance authors with amazingly good book covers, but my mind is blank. If you know some, let me know.

 Wuthering Heights

The movie Wuthering Heights comes out this Valentine’s weekend. I remember reading the book and felt such fear at the thought of someone loving someone so much that everything else pales in comparison. I know some people find that romantic, but I just found that crazy. I am going to do a post about Wuthering Heights, but I just thought I would bring it up now. What did you feel after reading Wuthering Heights?

I Have Been Eating Sweet Potatoes

I have been snacking on sweet potatoes. I am loving these things. I love myself a potato anyway, whether sweet or Russet, but for some reason I have been craving them since the holidays. I don’t eat them  like they do on social media where the sweet potato has cheese shoved up its’ crevice; I eat them with butter and a bit of sugar. So good.

I decided to Keep Writing Short Romance Stories

I bought this up before about how I write 5,000-to-7,000-word romance short stories. I will tell you, I  have wondered if it is worth it. I would like to make more money with my writing, but  I wonder if I can make more money with writing short romance stories. I haven’t been writing them that long so I can’t say whether my payout will increase or not, so I am giving it a year.

 Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you are alone or coupled up with someone, I hope you have fun today. If you are alone, buy yourself some chocolates, go to the movies alone and see Wuthering Heights or read the book, or make yourself a worthy dinner for the occasion. If you are coupled up, read a romance novel to each other or some poetry. I hope you have fun either way.
